On Sunday, Braves manager Walt Weiss revealed that an MRI scan had uncovered "loose bodies" in Waldrep's arm, a condition that could require surgical intervention. Waldrep, only 23 years old, had been impressing the team with his early camp performances, showcasing a promising future in the league.
"He's a young talent with a bright future ahead," Weiss said. "His recent displays have been eye-catching, consistently hitting 99 mph right from the start. It's a shame we have to deal with this now."
